CM Punjab's Message
Public Safety is one of the top-most priorities of my Government. Mahfooz (Safe) Punjab is a goal that has been built upon the greatest police reform effort in Punjab since independence. The Government has spent huge sums of money in order to inculcate functional specialization in the department as well as equipping the police with necessary hardware. Creation of the Punjab Highway Patrol and the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service are some other worth mentioning initiatives.
I must acknowledge that the rank and file of the Punjab Police have enthusiastically responded to our untiring efforts. The senior officers have ensured implementation of changes that were envisaged by the Government. They have successfully put to optimal use the resources that have been provided to them in the form of manpower, vehicles, buildings and funds. As a result, police performance has improved. Public satisfaction with police working is also increasing. I am confident that the Punjab Police are firmly committed to further improving their performance and image.
This web site is evidence of this resolve. By registering their presence on the internet, the Punjab Police have added to their ability to respond to needs of the people. On one hand, the web site provides useful information to the citizens, and on the other, it may become an important means of obtaining information from the public and ensuring adequate and prompt response to their demands. I wish the Punjab Police every success in the gigantic task of protecting the life, liberty, and property of citizens through community support and cooperation. On my part they can be rest assured of my continuing support.

IG Punjab's Message
A safe and secure environment is essential not only for economic prosperity but also for social cohesion and political development. Police, as the primary law enforcement agency in the Punjab, bears the responsibility for providing safety and security through control of crime and maintenance of public order. In view of this responsibility, the Punjab Police have adopted a policing strategy that lays emphasis on community participation and problem solving. This strategy also incorporates the reforms that have been initiated by the Federal and the Provincial Government.
We are grateful to Chief Minister, Punjab, for generous allocation of resources for implementing reform and improving our ability to combat crime and making police a more responsive organization.
The Punjab Police web site firmly places the Punjab Police on the information superhighway. It is part of our initiative to introduce new technologies to our working. This website is intended to keep the public informed of the activities, initiatives and performance of the Punjab Police. This publication will contribute to our dialogue with the public and civil society that would enhance community participation in the law enforcement process.

Message from Aditional Inspector General (rawalpindi region)
Police in Punjab are exposed to challenges of diversified nature. Despite they are expected to perform multiple functions, the fact remains that the core of police function is crime fighting. The test of police efficiency is the reduction in both the crime and the fear of crime. The top priority of Rawalpindi Region police is to provide full security and safety to the people. I assure you that criminal and anti-social elements will find us really tough. I want people to feel safe and be safe. Homicide and other crimes against person also shake the public peace and tranquility of life. However, the Police are committed to ensure the policing strategies aiming at reducing the incidence of heinous offences. In the wake of terrorist suicidal attacks and bomb blasts: special measures and relentless follow-up efforts are also being made to prevent any terrorist incidents as the region also has a history of sectarian killing.
On our part, we continue our crime preventive strategies like frequent picketing and search operations, extensive patrolling, surveillance of bad characters and apprehension of Proclaimed Offenders, tough action against their harbourers and finally liberal action on under the preventive laws. Crime is a complicated social phenomenon that cannot be explained from one perspective. Similarly, it cannot be solved without active cooperation among members of the public, various key sectors and law enforcement agencies. Indeed, where positive collaboration among key actors is thriving, both the incidence and fear of crime rapidly go down. This community policing introduces a new dimension where the fight against crime is a vibrant partnership between the police and members of the public.
Early finalization of investigation is constantly emphasized upon and reviewed up to the level of the Provincial Police Officer. Thus focus on both the quality and early disposal of cases under investigation remains the top priority of Regional Police Rawalpindi and all the DPOs, SPs Investigation , SDPOs and SHOs are required to proactively supervise the cases pending investigations. Finally, where as the police has an obligation and duty to function according to the Constitution, law, and democratic aspiration of the people. I expect the every member of police force to be civil and police in behavior but firm in discharge of his duties. Law must be implemented without any fear or favor. At the same time, I also believe that the law of the country must be respected at all times by all the citizens and there should be on exception. It is the duty of the police to maintain law and order.
It is also the responsibility of the public to obey the law.
